The Karnali is a gem, combining a fantastic lowland trek through some of the prettiest canyons and jungle scenery found in Nepal. Most experienced river people who have boated the Karnali find it to be one of the best all- round river trips they have ever done.


The Karnali is Nepal’s longest and largest river and with its tributaries, it drains most of the Far west of Nepal – the ‘wild west’. The area that it flows through is wild and relatively unpopulated with some of the most pristine jungle scenery in Nepal, and abundant wildlife. During the seven days trip to cover 180 km of river you will not see anything of modern world, rather you have real chance of seeing different wildlife of Nepal.


We fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and drive for five hours to the town of Surkhet in western Nepal. After two days ‘ lovely trek we reach the put –in point called Sauli. After covering 180 km of this amazing river we reach Chisopani, our take out point. You can end this trip with a visit to Bardia National Park for an unbeatable combination.
