Kathmandu valley trek includes the three cities which are Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. All the three cities are the World Heritage Sites in Nepal including the three Durbar Squares in front of old Malla palaces in Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, one Buddhist stupa and a Hindu temple on the top of a hill (Swyambhunath and Changunarayan) and a famous temple of Hindus (Pashupati) and a famous stupa of the Buddhist (Bodhnath) are all situated in the Kathmandu Valley.
This program is unique in its nature as this is around the Kathmandu valley. The sanctuary of over 500 species of birds, 100 species of fauna and innumerable type of flora makes more interesting your trek and tour of these places in Nepal. The rice terraces and the high hills with some nomadic culture in around the 20 km distance of the capital is never found in anywhere in the world. The capital which is in a distance of about 60 km from the major Himalayan range, the trek route lies just on the pre-Himalayan range of Nepal. In any day and time, we can go back to the capital as all the ranges are linked by the road and be able to be transported to the city.
Day 01
After your arrival, our guide will pick-up and take to hotel from airport and afternoon, you will be free. First day while you arrive to the Kathmandu airport, you will be received with warmness from our representative. Then you are transported to the Hotel which is under a good management and check in. There you are assisted to the room by our bell desk helper which is to make your enter in the hotel more comfortable and relaxing. Then in the afternoon, if the time permits us, then you will be briefed and taken to the some historical center of Kathmandu for sightseeing. Than drive to the temple of Swyambhunath which is one of the famous Buddhist stupa of 2000 years old. The temple is constructed on the hill top from where we can have a beautiful sunset view and also the view of Kathmandu valley. You can see the main cities of Kathmandu valley including the surrounding hills and in a clear day you can see the view of Himalayan range.
Day 02
Today, we will have half day sightseeing to the city of Patan and the Bungamati village in the morning and after the lunch, we will finish the tour program and there will be a briefing by your trek guide on the permit. You will also check the equipment. You will have free time in the evening is for your own activity. Overnight, you will stay in the hotel at Kathmandu.
Day 03
Today, we will wake up at 07:00 am and have a breakfast for the departure from your hotel for the trek. Today, you have to drive 2 hours to reach to the Kakani village which is the starting point of the hike. Today you will hike up to the Shivapuri National park and you will be in the camp in the night.
Day 04
Today, we will trek from Shivapuri camp to the Chisapani village which is in the north of the national park. The view is beautiful of the landscape and also the villages are the valleys of the other side of the Kathmandu. Overnight, we will stay in the camp at Chisapani.
Day 05
Today, you will start the trek at 07:30 am because today the trek is a bit longer than other days. As we have a tent with us, we just need to be in the finest and beautiful spot and also near the water resource we will fix our camp for overnight stay. Today we will arrive to the famous temple of Hindus which is located in the north of Sankhu village. Overnight, we will stay in the tent.
Day 06
Today we will walk a bit short than the other days and the trek is interesting as we pass by many villages and introduced by many ethnic groups living in the beautiful harmony. We will arrive to the famous view point known as a Nagarkot in the evening for the overnight stay. We can watch the wonderful view of sunset in the evening and the sunrise in the morning.
Day 07
Today we will wake up early in the morning for the sunrise view from the Nagarkot which is well known in the world as one of the best place of this kind. We can see the beautiful Kathmandu valley in the west and in the east the Panchkhal valley and in the north the 400 km long Himalayan range. The Himalayan range is 4000 km long from east to west and it consists of 14 mountain peaks which is higher than 8000 meters from sea level. Out of 2400 km, we have 885 km long mountain range and out of 14 peaks of 8000 meters, 8 of them are in Nepal. There are 4 in India, 1 in China and 1 in Pakistan. You can see some of the 8000 meter and dozens of 7000 meters. Then we will have a breakfast and proceed to the Dhulikhel on foot which is the trek of 4 hours and is moderate trek through the villages and arrive in the valley of Panauti and drive to the Dhulikhel. When we arrive to Dhulikhel, we will have lunch and rest in the afternoon and also there is a possibility to go to the short sightseeing at Dhulikhel bazaar. Overnight, we will stay in the hotel at Dhulikhel.
Day 08
We should wake up at 07:00 am and have a breakfast beforer leaving the Dhulikhel village at 08:00 am for trek to Panauti village via Namobuddha. Firstly, we drive about 20 minutes from the Dhulikhel and from Kavre village; we start our trek towards the south to Namobuddha. There is a monastery on the top of the hill of the Sankhu valley. After visiting the monastery, we make a camp with tent there on the hill and stay overnight with the most beautiful view of the landscape and mountains as well as the best experience to stay near the Buddhists monks.
Day 09
Today, you will walk about 5 hours to Balthali village and it is also a serene mountain with the best Mountain View. We will have an overnight stay on the top of the hill. Overnight, we will stay in the tent at Balthali.
Day 10
Today, we wake up early as the day is longer and we have to start early. We have several ups and downs, but it is interesting to walk as there is a dense forest with bountiful view of the valley and mountain. Overnight, we will stay in the botanical garden which is in the south of Patan city.
Day 11
Today, we are walking in the south of the Kathmandu valley, as there is botanical garden as well as it is rich in vegetation and fauna. Though the geographical situation is equal in all over the Kathmandu valley, Godavari and its suburb is heavy rainfall areas, so the vegetation is greener. We will have about 6 hours walk and we will have a camp for overnight stay near or around the Bhattedanda.
Day 12
We shall trek from Bhatredanda to Dakshinkali village and make a camp near the Pharping monastery. Today, you will cross the Bagmati river and go to the south of the valley where there is a beautiful village known as a Pharping. Near to the Pharping where the famous Guru padmasambhava (the founder teacher of Tibetan Buddhism) did meditation and achieved the enlightenment. We can visit his cave and also the monasteries around the Pharping area.
Day 13
We will trek from Pharping to Hattiban resort and lunch there and after lunch return to Kathmandu. Today is easier day, as the walk is shorter, and has a lunch at Hattiban resort which is one of the best view points of the Kathmandu valley. Afternoon, we will drive back to Kathmandu. Today is the end of the trek of the Kathmandu valley and near the Pharping village, there is a famous Hindu shrine of goddess Kali where the people in every Saturday and Tuesday perform the Puja or offering ceremony and also they sacrifice the animals and commonly is the goat and roster. You can visit that place if you coincide with the above mentioned days.
Day 14
We will visit to the city Bhaktapur and other famous temples like Pashupatinath and Buddhanath as well. These are the world heritage sites of Nepal.
Day 15
Morning visit to the Bungamati and Khokana village and the afternoon you will be free time and you can go around the city as well.
Day 16
We will organize to gain an experience on the spiritual tour like yoga or meditation or Ayurvedic massage in the morning, while in the evening time; we will try to take you for cultural program organized for you.
Day 17
Today you will have the departure transfer from hotel to airport as per your flight schedule.
